# Attach Files and Images to Your Swell Conversation

> Share files, images, and design imports with Swell to provide richer context for campaign drafts and creative direction in your current conversation.

The Swell attachment menu lets you bring external context directly into a conversation. Whether you want Swell to reference a product brief, match a visual style, or build from an existing design, attachments give Swell the material it needs to produce a more accurate and relevant draft.

## Opening the attachment menu

Click the attachment icon in the Swell input area to open the attachment menu. From there, select the type of content you want to share with Swell for the current session.

## Supported attachment types

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Files">
    Attach PDFs, documents, or other text-based files you want Swell to read and reference. Use this for product briefs, brand guidelines, campaign briefs, or any written material that should inform the draft.

    Check the upload dialog for current file size and format limits.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Images">
    Attach photos or design samples to guide the visual direction of your campaign. Swell will reference the image when making layout and content suggestions.

    Check the upload dialog for current image size and format limits.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Design import">
    Import an existing design as a starting point for a new campaign. Supported import paths include HTML source, a screenshot, or a Figma file, depending on what your account has available. Swell will extract the structure and style from the imported design and apply them to the new draft.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Image generation

If your account and AI provider configuration support image generation, Swell can create images as part of the drafting process. Ask Swell to generate an image within the conversation and it will use the provider available to your account.

<Info>
  Image generation availability depends on your AI provider configuration and account access level. If image generation does not appear as an option, check your workspace provider settings or contact support.
</Info>

## Attachment scope

<Note>
  Attachments apply only to the current conversation session. They do not permanently update your workspace brand context. If you want Swell to consistently use a particular design direction, image, or brand rule across all future drafts, add it to your workspace **References** or **Memories** instead.
